3D Artist turned Jeweler
I grew up fascinated by visual arts and all things creative. In high school, after seeing Jurassic Park, I decided I wanted to do that. I didn’t know what "that" was; I just wanted to make it. That’s when I chose to go to a visual arts school where I learned 3D media arts.
During my studies, I felt there was a need to work with my hands. I loved working on the computer but also had a desire to tinker and play with tools and automobiles. I loved the way parts went together and how polished metal tools glistened in the sun.
My father was an artist in his own right, and he loved to make wooden mobiles and fancy tables with inlays. He always worked with his hands, and I often helped him on various projects around the house.
After gaining some experience in creative fields, I still yearned to build things and have physical objects, and that is when I purchased my first FDM 3D printer. My first 3D printer was one that you had to build piece by piece, and even though it was a real challenge, I learned a lot and grew to love 3D printing as a hobby.
Years later, I discovered electroforming and learned to copper plate 3D prints and organic objects. After electroforming for over a year, I got into metalsmithing by way of the Central Florida Mineral and Gem Society, and later I took a leap of faith and got into lost wax casting.
All this experience has led me to this moment where I have been able to cultivate various skill sets in the visual arts, mechanics, and smithing to allow me the ability to create unique pieces out of solid bronze and other metals.
